For GKN Powder Metallurgy, research means fulfilling the responsibility as a company to support society in its daily challenges.

Exciting times for research

What are the biggest challenges and problems of the present and future? How can we help the society to cope with these complex tasks? Does powder metallurgy offer holistic, suitable solutions? Which fields are relevant and which cooperations can help us? These are the questions that drive GKN Powder Metallurgy.

Together with leading universities and institutes worldwide, GKN is working on several research projects in Addtive Manufacturing, Advanced Technologies and Materials Development.

Find solutions with us that move the world.

CALyPSOL research project

Green Energy is a central part of the values of GKN Powder Metallurgy. Together with the DLR -Institute for Solar Research in Germany, we develop measures for the absorption of CO2 in filter technology research.

COMSYN research project

In cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Technical Research Center Finland, GKN Powder Metallurgy is helping to significantly reduce biofuel costs.

Filtration is the important final step before biofuel synthesis and GKN is researching the best filter material for this application. Our new filter material withstands extreme temperatures and ultra-corrosive environments. This has a positive effect on the process.

SUPREME research project

European project working on higher productivity and energy efficiency of AM.
